Don't miss this exciting and enlightening presentation by 4th generation African and native Zimbabwean, Mark "Butch" Butcher. Winner of the 2014 Guardian and Observer ethical travel award, Mark is an ecotourism pioneer, professional safari guide, and leading conservationist who hosts Wildland travelers at his lodges in Victoria Falls, on the Zambezi River, and in Hwange National Park. Mark will share some of his amazing life stories from the African bush: from working as a game ranger fighting rhino poachers in the late 80's, to his latest role leading safaris and saving elephants by employing ex-poachers as an incentive to protect wildlife through ecotourism. Mark will also detail Wildland's special Water for Hwange conservation safari, scheduled for June 10 - 20, 2020, where guests will actively participate in conservation and community projects, side-by-side with rangers and local communities leader, which will benefit both the wildlife and the local people bordering the park. The presentation features amazing lodges and tented camps, the Elephant Express safari train, and incredible wildlife encounters including a video of Mark tracking elephants up close on foot with Wildland founders Kurt and Anne Kutay! Kurt will also be attending to share some of his personal experiences of traveling in Zimbabwe.
