African Safaris 101: Where to go and when!

  • The Savvy Traveler 112 5th Avenue South Edmonds United States (map)

Africa is an immense continent so for many travelers planning starts with deciding where to go.  East Africa is often a lure for those interested in observing the Great Wildebeest Migration of Kenya and Tanzania or the primates of Uganda and Rwanda.  Southern Africa has a lot to offer too as host to some of the world’s most unique places, i.e., the Skeleton Coast of Namibia, the Okavango Delta of Botswana, and Victoria Falls of Zimbabwe/Zambia.  The private reserves of South Africa are known for giving safari-goers the Big 5 in one morning and Cape Town is a draw all its own.

Key features and attractions will be highlighted along with best ways to combine travel between countries.  We will look at town and beach options in addition to safaris in the bush.  Recommended safari routes will be discussed along with opportunities for self-exploration and small group travel.  Join Erica Varga of Worlds Away Safaris for an exploration of Africa.
