| Mystical Bali |
| By now millions of people have been introduced to the island of Bali through Liz Gilbert's best-selling travel memoir "Eat, Pray, Love" and the popular movie based on the book. But does the place itself live up to the fairy-tale quality of the book and film? According to Greg Roach of Spirit Quest Tours, the reality of Bali actually exceeds the picture painted in the media. Using gorgeous photographs, video, humorous anecdotes and amazing facts, Greg's signature presentation style will bring Bali vividly to life. He'll share the insider's secrets he's gleaned from years of travel to "The Island of 10,000 Temples." Would you like to meet Ketut Liyer, the "Balian" from Liz Gilbert's book? Greg's spent hours with him and will talk about what one of his "readings" is really like. What about the powerful mysticism of the Balinese religion? Greg will help you understand the difference between Siwa and shakti. From tooth-filing to rubber time, cremation ceremonies, magical daggers, coconut wine, flowing volcanoes, sacred snakes, weasel coffee, roast suckling pig and chewing betel nut, this fascinating presentation will reveal the magical island of Bali in a unique and compelling way. |

| Transcending Time in Burma & Laos |
| Over 100 years ago Rudyard Kipling proclaimed, “This is Burma and it will be unlike any land you know about”. This is still true today. Burma, also known as Myanmar, is the least-traveled destination in Southeast Asia. Virtually untouched by western influence since British rule ended in 1948, Burma has retained its fascinating and diverse cultures. Visit temples and museums in the bustling capitol of Yangon, witness the deep spirituality of Mandalay, explore the ancient ruins of magical Bagan, and then step further into the past at Inle Lake and meet the villagers who live there. Travel to Burma requires more knowledgeable planning as its tourist infrastructure is in its infancy – but Burma will be an experience unlike any other.
Move forward in time (a little), where neighboring Laos has been welcoming tourists for many years – but few have discovered its charms. Enjoy its unique culture, French colonial influence, incredible food and peaceful people. Visit UNESCO-protected Luang Prabang in the northern heartland, the serene capital of Vientiane, and meander down the Mekong River to Paske to see the freshwater dolphins and 4,000 Islands.
Both Burma and Laos are incredible destinations for those looking for cultural adventures in authentic old-world environments, and are a photographer’s dream!

We will visit many of Nepal’s top sights, including the most famous Buddhist and Hindu temples in Kathmandu. | Syria? Yes, Syria! |
| If you are at all curious about this region of the world and what it potentially has to offer, then come and experience what many travelers have witnessed for the last 5000 years. Thousands of years of history have resulted in an intriguing and colorful culture with a wealth of attractions for tourists to explore. The people of Syria are curious, humorous, and welcoming, and they love to demonstrate their hospitality by sharing whatever they have at hand…usually a cup of tea!
The current unrest in Syria is unfortunate, and it hopefully will be resolved without further bloodshed. Until it becomes possible to visit Syria again, we invite you to come to this presentation about the ancient ruins, attractions, and culture of Syria.
Richard Siffert and his wife Diane drove extensively throughout Syria by car last April, exploring the major and the less traveled sights. They visited Palmyra, the Dead Cities, Damascus, Hama, Crusader Castles, etc. They also were involved in several political demonstrations, but not by design!
Richard and Diane have each traveled to over 100 countries, and they have concluded that their stay in Syria was one of the most memorable experiences they’ve had.
After the presentation there will be time to discuss any questions about what Syria has to offer and answer any questions about the current political situation.

| Papua New Guinea: The Last Frontier |
| Papua New Guinea is quite literally one of the last undiscovered places on the planet. With 850 distinct tribes and languages, new tribes have been "discovered" as recently as the 90's. It's a country where the village women are bare-breasted, the men wear penis gourds and pigs are used as retribution payments for the deaths of neighboring tribesmen. It's a photographer's paradise during festivals (singsings) and always a naturalist's dream. Visit during the Mt. Hagen Singsing (in August) or the Goroka Show (in September). In both cases, you'll be visually mesmerized by thousands of men and women dressed in their finest local garb that includes pig tusks, birds of paradise feathers and 6-foot high head dresses. Join WanderTours founder, Beth Whitman, as she takes you on a visual journey of this half-island nation in the South Pacific. |
